Permits and Fees

The Town of Hollywood Park requires permits for a variety of projects. It is the Contractor's responsibility (not the homeowner) to obtain the appropriate permit prior to beginning any project within Hollywood Park. If you are unsure if a permit is required for an upcoming project, please review the City Ordinances section of this website or call City Hall at 210-494-2023 ext. 224 for further information.

Building Permit Application Procedures

Permits are issued at the Town of Hollywood Park City Hall during normal operating hours. A copy of the permit application can be found HERE. The completed application, floor plans, or other supporting documentation are to be submitted to City Hall for review by the Building Inspector. Upon Inspector approval, the Contractor will be notified of the cost of the permit and will be issued upon receipt of the appropriate fees.

Inspections

Inspections are to be called in to City Hall at 210-494-2023 ext. 224 no later than 4:30 p.m. The list of requested inspections is faxed to the Building Inspector at the end of the day. The inspections may be done within 2 business days and not later than 5 business days. An inspection slip is left at the job site to inform the Contractor if the work passed or failed and reason for failing. Questions regarding inspections can be directed to the voicemail of Bruce Bealor at 210-494-2023 ext. 224

Oak Tree Trimming / Cutting

In an attempt to control Oak Wilt, the Hollywood Park City Council passed Ordinance #585 requiring the following:

  • Commercial tree trimmers must obtain a tree-trimming permit at a cost of $50.00.
  • All equipment used for trimming must be properly disinfected before use.
  • All cuts must be painted within 30 minutes of making the cut (paint all cuts before moving from one tree to the next). In addition, all brush must be hauled off by the tree-trimming company.
  • The permit is only good for seven (7) days

It is the responsibility of the tree-trimming company (not the homeowner) to obtain the permit prior to starting any trimming. Failure to comply with the ordinance shall result in charges being filed against the tree trimmer.
